WBMP (Wireless Bitmap) is a monochrome graphics file format optimized for mobile computing devices using the Wireless Application Protocol (WAP). It was designed for the extremely limited bandwidth and display capabilities of early 2000s feature phones.
A WBMP file is an uncompressed sequence of bits with a minimal variable-byte integer header usually encoding generic type (0), width, and height. It supports only 1-bit color (black and white). There is no compression, palette, or gray scale.

Created in 1986 by Aldus (later acquired by Adobe), it was designed to be a universal standard for desktop publishing and scanning. TIFF is a container format, meaning it can hold almost any kind of image data—compressed or uncompressed, RGB or CMYK, 8-bit or 32-bit. A TIFF file is built around 'tags' that describe the image data.
