Samsung RAW
The raw format for Samsung's defunct NX camera line.
SRW is the proprietary raw format used by Samsung's NX series of mirrorless cameras (like the NX1 and NX500). Although Samsung exited the camera market, the NX1 remains a cult classic for its high-resolution sensor, and SRW files are still relevant for its users.
SRW files are TIFF-based containers holding the raw sensor data. The NX1's SRW files are particularly notable for containing data from a 28MP BSI-APS-C sensor, which was ahead of its time.
Introduced with the Samsung GX series (rebadged Pentax) and evolved with the NX series.
BigTIFF
TIFF for files larger than 4GB.
BigTIFF (often referred to as TIFF64) is an extension of the classic TIFF format designed to break the 4GB file size barrier. It uses 64-bit offsets instead of 32-bit, allowing for files up to 18,000 petabytes.
Standard TIFF uses 32-bit integers for file offsets, limiting the file size to 2^32 bytes (4GB). BigTIFF changes the internal structure to use 64-bit integers. It is not backward compatible with older TIFF readers that only understand 32-bit offsets.
