PCDS is a specific format identifier used within ImageMagick to differentiate how a Kodak Photo CD (PCD) file is read. While 'PCD' reads the raw PhotoYCC data (often resulting in dark or flat images if not corrected), 'PCDS' instructs the decoder to automatically convert the Luma/Chroma YCC data into the standard sRGB color space during the read process.
It reads the same physical `.pcd` files as the standard PCD format. The difference is solely in the post-processing pipeline of the decoder. PCDS applies a color transformation matrix to map PhotoYCC (0-255 Y, but specific chroma ranges) to sRGB (0-255), often applying a gamma correction to make the image look 'correct' on computer monitors immediately.
