Kodak DC Series RAW
A raw format from the early consumer digital era.
KDC is a raw image format used by Kodak's consumer digital cameras (DC series) in the late 90s and early 2000s, such as the DC40, DC50, and DC120. Unlike the professional DCR format, KDC was aimed at the mass market.
KDC files are TIFF-based but use a specific compression and encryption scheme that made them difficult to open in third-party software for years. They contain raw sensor data, allowing for post-processing flexibility unavailable in standard JPEGs of that era.
Kodak was trying to bring better quality to consumer cameras. The format disappeared as Kodak shifted focus and eventually left the camera market.

PSD (Photoshop Document) is the proprietary file format of Adobe Photoshop. It is the de facto standard in the digital art, photography, and graphic design industries. A PSD file is divided into five major parts: File Header, Color Mode Data, Image Resources (metadata like paths, guides), Layer and Mask Information (the bulk of the data), and Image Data (a flattened backward-compatible preview). This structure allows Photoshop to save complex non-destructive editing states.
